New from Storm

From Storm:

Storm Arashi Wake Crank

If you’re searching for active, shallow bass, tie on a new Arashi Wake Cranks, says Storm pro Brandon Palaniuk.

“It’s a great search bait — perfect for calling fish in,” says Palaniuk. “It’s designed to run just under the surface with a hard, rolling action, and creates a pronounced tail kick that makes a wake that really gets their attention.”

Storm_ArashiWakeCrank_612_HEROFished fast or slow, the new Arashi Wake Crank runs true, creating a consistent fish-enticing wake. A single-ball cadence rattle creates a unique sound and vibration, which adds to the Wake Crank’s ability to call in fish from a distance.

The bait is productive in both clear and stained water, “whenever fish are up shallow,” he says. He throws it around laydowns, stumps, weed lines and the edges of lily pad fields.

Like all baits in the Arashi family, the Wake Crank features a circuit-board lip, patent-pending self-tuning line tie, rotated hook hangers, holographic 3D eyes and premium VMC® Black Nickel Hooks.

The self-tuning line tie ensures that “Once these baits are in tune, they’ll never come out of tune,” Palaniuk explains. Circuit-board lip construction allows for a thinner bill, which makes the bait durable and gives it more action at slower speeds. Rotated hook hangers accommodate larger hooks.

The Arashi Wake Crank comes in 16 colors: Hot Blue Shad, Bluegill, Baby Bass, Crappie, Blue Back Herring, Wakasagi, Ghost Hitch, Pro Blue, Rusty Craw, Mossy Chartreuse Craw, Red Craw, Hot Chartreuse Shad, Parrot, Black Silver Shad, Green Gold Shad and Black Chartreuse Shad.

Suggested retail price: $8.99

Arashi now in 4 new colors

The Storm Arashi is now available in four new colors:

Ghost Hitch – Black back, gold-green stripe, a white body, gold-brown cheeks and a pink belly accent.

Pro Blue – Blue back with realistic scale patterns, blue-silver cheeks, a white-silver body and an orange belly accent.

Green Gold Shad – Black back, green-gold side stripe with scale pattern, green-brown cheeks, a prominent black “shad spot” and a white-silver body.

Black Chartreuse Shad – Black back with lifelike scale patterns, a chartreuse body, a prominent black “shad spot,” and a subtle pink-orange throat flash.

Storm_Arashi_newcols“Those first three are more natural patterns, great for clearer water,” says Palaniuk. “Black Chartreuse is brighter and bolder, perfect for dirtier water.”

All baits in the Arashi lineup are available in the new colors, including the Arashi Silent Square 3, Silent Square 5, Rattling Square 3, Rattling Square 5, Rattling Flat 7 and Rattling Deep 10. The numbers in each name indicate the bait’s maximum diving depth.

All Arashi models come in 12 additional colors: Hot Blue Shad, Bluegill, Baby Bass, Crappie, Blue Back Herring, Wakasagi, Rusty Craw, Mossy Chartreuse Craw, Red Craw, Hot Chartreuse Shad, Parrot and Black Silver Shad.

All baits in the Arashi family feature a circuit-board lip, a patent-pending self-tuning line tie, rotated hook hangers, holographic 3D eyes and premium VMC® Black Nickel Hooks. All Arashi cranks also feature a large head that tapers down to a thin, pointed tail — a design that creates unadulterated buoyancy to back out of cover, practically eliminating hangups.

Circuit-board lip construction allows for a thinner bill, which makes the bait durable and gives it more action at slower speeds. Rotated hook hangers accommodate larger hooks. “You’ve got a better chance of catching them if you’ve got bigger hooks on,” Palaniuk says.

New Wiggle Wart colors

Storm Wiggle Warts now come in four new craw colors. Available in both the Original Wiggle Wart and Original Mag Wart lines, the new craw-color patterns — Moss Back Craw, Creek Craw, Red Craw and Orange Brown Craw — will help anglers better match the hatch, as crawdad colors vary widely by species, water body and region.

“As soon as crawdads start coming out of hibernation in the spring, fish start keying on them,” says two-time Bassmaster Elite Series winner and Storm pro Brandon Palaniuk. “So that’s when I start throwing craw-pattern Wiggle Warts. I’m excited to have four new craw colors in my arsenal.”

Palaniuk’s enthusiasm is easily understood. On the final day of the 2013 Bassmaster Classic — in which he finished runner-up — he caught four of the five fish he weighed on a craw-pattern Wiggle Wart.

“I like to cycle through the colors to see which ones they eat a little bit better,” Palaniuk says. “Most of the time, I’m going to start with something with some green in it.”

Green and brown craw patterns are best in clearer water, Palaniuk says. Red and orange craw patterns work better in dirtier water. “That red shows out a little bit more, where the fish can track it a little bit better,” he explains.

> The new Moss Back Craw pattern features an olive-green back, green/chartreuse sides and belly and a black craw-body pattern.

> The new Creek Craw pattern features a brown-green back, a white belly and a black, craw-body pattern.

> Storm’s new Red Craw pattern features a red back, a red-orange fade on the sides, an orange belly and a black, craw-body pattern.

> The new Orange Brown Craw pattern features a brown back, orange-brown belly and a black, craw-body pattern.

Storm_WW_newcolsBuilt from Storm’s original molds, both the Original Wiggle Wart and Original Mag Wart come equipped with premium, super-sharp VMC® Treble Hooks — No. 4s and No. 2s, respectively. Designed to run to depths of 7 to 18 feet, the Original Wiggle Wart is 2-inches long and weighs 3/8 of an ounce. Built to swim at depths of 13-to-24 feet, the Original Mag Wart is 2-3/4 inches long and weighs 3/4 of an ounce.

New Twitch Stick colors

The Storm Twitch Stick – a suspending jerkbait with a thick minnow profile and an aggressive action – is now available in four new minnow-matching color patterns: Ghost Wakasagi, Ghost Hot Blue, Ghost Herring and Ghost Pro Blue. These patterns are semi-transparent, making them killer in clear water.

> Ghost Wakasagi features a black, scaled back with slightly pink sides that fade into a transparent body.

> Ghost Hot Blue features a silvery-blue back and chartreuse sides that fade into a transparent body.

> Ghost Herring features a dark green-blue back that fades into a slim, light chartreuse side stripe, fading away into a transparent body.

> Ghost Pro Blue features a dark-blue back stripe that fades into a lighter, transparent blue body with an orange belly flash.

storm_ts_newcolorsResponsive to a subtle, twitch-style technique, the Twitch Stick produces most strikes when paused on the retrieve. Coming to rest with an added wobble, a pause often triggers strikes. Experiment with the length of your pause to determine what the fish want.

The size 8 Twitch Stick dives 2-to-4 feet, measures 3-1/4 inches long, weighs 5/16 of an ounce, and comes equipped with two No. 6 premium VMC® Black Nickel Treble Hooks.

The size 10 Twitch Stick dives 3-to-5 feet, measures 4 inches long, weighs 5/8th of an ounce, and comes equipped with two No. 4 premium VMC Black Nickel Treble Hooks.

Additional fish-attracting features include a loud multi-ball rattle, an external scale pattern and 3D holographic eyes.
