How You Can Get Some of KVD’s Mojo

I’m a guitar-slinger who grew up on a steady diet of Eddie Van Halen. When EVH, as he’s known by guitar-heads, endorses or comes out with a new guitar, I want to play it. When he comes out with striped shoes, I want a pair. Can’t help it, he’s just the man.

And so it is with KVD – and other pros, but this post is about KVD. If you’re a diehard KVD fan, you NEED a HydroWave, man. You need the rods, the reels, the baits. If I were a huge KVD fan, I’d get geared up just like him. Because when you’ve got all the gear, the only difference is in your hands and your head, excluding any alien influence – just like guitar-playing.

Now that I’ve shelled the beaches of your brain, here’s where I’m going:

If you’ve been paying attention to the item at the top right of this page that says Buy a Jersey for St. Jude, you will have seen that the tour jersey of the one and only KVD is now on the auction block. As I post this, there’s a little less than 5 days left in the auction and the bidding is at $405.00. I’m assuming it’ll get over $1K.

Is that stupid money for a piece of cloth? Or is it a bargain for some of KVD’s mojo?

Here's some of the mojo, click to see way bigger.

Think about it: Do you think you’d psych out a few guy at a local derby when you showed up with VANDAM across your shoulder blades? Would you have the guts to take their ribbing so you could maybe take their mo-nay?

I’ll make you a deal: You win the auction, we here at BassParade will cover at least some of your tourney finishes this year. You couldn’t buy that publicity for $1K, believe you me. But the bottom line here is let’s see how you do – see whether this really is a chance to capture some of that extraterrestrial mojo.

Because there may be something to this, just like there may be something to the cookies. Who really knows, and you can’t know for sure without trying it yourself man!

Plus you’ll be supporting one of the most important places for sick children in the universe, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

> The auction ends this Sunday. If you’re going to wait to try to steal it in the last few seconds, make sure you set an alarm on your phone….

> There might be a scrap of that mojo in Jonathon VanDam’s jersey, which is likewise up for auction now. The custom hoodie is pretty cool too.

> None of the Austin Powers vids on YouTube can be embedded. Bummer – great stuff.

How old is this VanDam jersey? Must be a 2009 or earlier jersey cuz he was sponsored by Kodak in 2010 and I seen Kodak again on his jersey at the 2011 Classic.

Glad to know that I’m not the only one twisted enough to think that guitar slinging and bait slinging have things in common. Kind of in the same boat too, got the Wolfgang, 5150, etc… My friend gave me an axe (unknown make) that had the same design as ol’ Frankenstein except in an awful yellow and black design. lol

No Quantum Tour edition though. I’m an Ike fan….

Which Wolfie and which 5150? And do you read woodytone.com?

Peavey Wolfgang Standard I got back in 2001.

The 5150 is the original that Peavey put out – half stack-, I heard that another company rehashed the design under a different name but can’t remember who or what now. The lead guitar in a past band of mine had the combo amp. It sounded good, but big guitar sound coming from a combo just doesn’t seem right. lol

I’ve never read woodytone, but I looked at it and it looks like an interesting read.

They just added a Wolverine/Remitz Jersey.

I’ve bid on the hoodie but I’m not optimistic.
