Welcome to Jay Kumar's BassBlaster, your daily-ish email of the best o' bassin'!
Fishin' biz folks – Don't let ICAST go by without the bassin' world seein' your stuff here. Reply to this email to get aboard the Blaster afore it's too late!
Today's Top 5
1. Some bassin' babes…
…from Instagram, gals who know that a kitchen ain't NO way to the heart of a bassin' man:
2. When the money quit coming in when the fish went offshore, that made home life very difficult.
– FLWer JT Kenney talkin' 'bout bein' a bank beater 'fore he learnt offshore fishin'.
> "When I started catching fish out there, it was almost like breathing new life into my fishing. It wasn't the same old mundane, go down the bank and try to figure out if they're on moving baits or soft baits. It was almost like a whole new office, a whole new job."
Is it me or does JT look like some kinda parrot here:
3. I can't be in the boat fishing for 12 to 14 hours a day for awhile.
– Clark Wendlandt talkin' 'bout recoverin' from his heart attack. He'll miss the last two FLW Tour events. And this was interestin':
> He'd signed up for the Northern Opens with the hope of having the option to compete on the Bassmaster Elite Series in 2015….
It it me or does it seem like more FLWers than usual are eyein' the Elites?
Nuthin' from Reaction Innovations, it's this-a-here:
Same density as wood, supposedly….
5. Gitcha Bass Up!
…G-man said, Git it heeya!
Gotta say…dude can make overalls look cool (could be a hint, Swindle!).

Tip of the Day
Ishy Monroe: Makin' froggies simple.
Great!
> You’ll catch your biggest fish on a frog between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
> If it’s a bright sunny day, I’ll use white. If it’s dark or cloudy, I’ll go with black. If it’s somewhere in between, I’ll probably use a bluegill pattern.
> You just fish a frog back to the boat with a series of short twitches – call it walking the frog.
> I’ll tie the frog, say, a Snag Proof Ish’s Phat Frog, to the line directly with a double Palomar, and that’s it.
> If I can’t seen any color to the frog when the fish grabs it, I set the hook right then with an upward popping motion. If I see a bit of the frog, I’ll wait a second before setting the hook to give the fish time to get it down its mouth more. If you miss the fish, throw the frog right back.
I texted Ish this: "That's crazy, man, it can't be that simple. It ain't fer me!"
He texted me back this:
Check mate yo!
Quote of the Day
When it gets tough out there, I have tendency to start doubting.
– Paul Elias, a statement I find amazing. Paulie E. has done more than 99.999999% of bass fishermen on the planet, and STILL doubts himself. Amazing and totally human. Love ya man!
Shot of the Day
Here's yer inspiration for the weekend (#scatterrap), and for shootin' it in as a BassBlaster Top Shot yo!
