What’s Coming After the A-Rig

It saddens me…deeply…to think that bassin’ innovation is coming by way of adapting stuff from saltwater bait-dunkers. Because there ain’t nearly as much innovation on the salt scene, speaking as one who spends a bunch of time dragging bottom baits off beaches every August.

Or maybe there is more innovation there, or left to be discovered there…. Since we got the dropshot from saltwater and now the Alabama (or is it Auburn?!) Rig from saltwater, figured I’d save us all the trouble of waiting to see what comes next by showing you the other saltwater rigs that are sure to catch on with bassers.

Here they are, comin’ to a derby near you:

Kite rig #1 – the more hooks, the merrier, right? (Source: fishingkites.co.nz)

Kite rig #2. Sure you can cast it!

Are balloon's legal? (Source: texasfishingforum.com)

Check out where the hook is on this eel rig.

Why not use a bobber with a dropshot? (Source: secretweaponlures.com)

Maybe fill up the feeder with Berkley Gulp! and tape a hook to it so it's legal.

A Couple Patent Drawings…

Looks like a new kind of bassin' treble....

Yep, castable!

I’ve been using the kite rig to fish docks for years.

I’m still waiting for drop-shotting spinnerbaits to catch on.
