Dudley’s custom depthfinder, Honesty from 2 Elites, Howell beats Ike

Fishing’ biz folks — If yer not on the BassBlaster (2nd biggest daily read in bassin’), you will miss out this season! Don’t do it! Lemme know….

Today’s Top 5

How Dudley finds fish.

Secret’s out:

Pretty smart way to get a sponsor some love….

Is AR bassin’ central?

Reading news that lure designer Cotton Cordell just died (RIP bassin’ brother), strikes me that lots of folks that have mightily impaced the bassin’ biz are from AR, like [not an inclusive list so don’t get your skirts in a twist]: Cotton, Forrest Wood (+ kin), Jerry McKinnis (+ kin), Bobby (and Billy Murray), and even younger dudes like Overstreet and, should I say it?…Bowman.

Always thought AL had the title of bassin’ biz central, but now I guess it’s:

I was kind of shocked at how much I’ve learned since then, just from reading my electronics to knowing how to throw dropshots and shaky-heads and crankbaits now.

Chris Lane bein’ refreshingly transparent about how much he’s learned since his first Classic in 2008 on Hartwell — tho he was probably ketchin’ ’em on a jig (lol).

Here’s some more cool honesty, this time from Brent the Chapmaniac on Bassmaster.com:

I think over the past few years I haven’t broadened my fishing techniques as much as I could have.
Also said:

> This year I want to make sure I continually educate myself with new techniques, new products, and apply them on the water. Over the past few years we’ve seen a bunch of new techniques really take off, and I haven’t been as apt to join the change.

> I will continue to focus on my strengths — shallow water cranking, flipping and power fishing — but I will also venture outside of my comfort zone more often when the opportunity presents itself.

Check these froggies!

Dang! Pass me the breadcrumbs….

Howell beats you Ike….

Yo Ike, check it like you wreck it — Howell got a dang Philly steak sammich named after him! [Howell, I dare you to eat that whole thing without getting up from the .]

> Working with the Lindner crew is not only a ton of fun, but very meaningful. From a brand perspective, the degree of audience engagement toward Sea Foam products is amazing — we are very pleased….

Z actually sings that theme song. You may not know this, but that’s how we got to know each other, when his band and mine opened up for Motley Crue one time back in the day. KVD was in the audience.

Tip of the Day

Good tip on FLWoutdoors.com:

> I’ve had the best luck using the 7-inch Mizmo Ish Tube for fish that weigh more than 5 pounds. I know some guys like to finesse bedding fish or use smaller baits, but my theory is that the bigger the bait, the more irritating it is to the female and the more inclined she’ll be to hit it.

> She’s not interested in eating, and maybe the only way she’s going to pay attention to your bait is because it’s too big to ignore.

> The Ish Tube is a big bait that has its own action. You don’t really have to do anything except get it in the bed. I fish it on a 12/0 wide-gap hook that’s custom-made in Japan, and I use 65-pound-test braid with no leader. I keep the colors pretty basic, too – either watermelon red, white (ghost), green pumpkin or bluegill.

> One trick that has worked for me over and over is getting the tube in the bed so that I can actually bump the female with it. Usually, that’s all it takes to get her to eat it.

12/0 hook??

Fishing provides healthy, inexpensive entertainment and relaxation.

Some dude BOLD-FACED LYING, MAN! Inexpensive?? Heck, that’s one of the GREAT things about bassin’ – buyin’! I’m so ticked off, I’m goin’ to TackleWarehouse.com right now….
