Who You Got in the BASS Legends Tourney?

In case you haven’t seen the announcement, on July 31 the following four teams of “legends” (they fo’ sho’ are) are going to duke it out on “a private lake near Montgomery” (one of Ray Scott’s private lunker ponds maybe?) as part of the B.A.S.S. All-Star Week.

Here they are:

> Jerry McKinnis, Bill Dance
> Guido Hibdon, Bobby Murray
> Guy Eaker, Ken Cook
> Rick Clunn, Tommy Martin

This is a 1-day event.

Hmmm. Private pond in Alabama. If it’s got docks, or somehow has clear water, I’m going with Guido/Bobby. But a private pond probably has “a” dock. So….

Well, I know Jerry owns a private pond and Bill fishes ’em all the time on TV (ha!), so maybe that’s an advantage.

The other two teams have guys well-versed in hot water events, which this’ll be, and they all can catch fish out of a bathtub. Do you choose two Texas guys or an Tarheel/Okie team?

Crap, I can’t pick. You?

Other than that, I know this is the first year for this and I’m betting it was somewhat hastily put together since the B.A.S.S. folks are running flat out, but have to say that if they can get a lot of the B.A.S.S. Legends there next year (Larry Nixon, Ricky Green, Al Lindner, Forrest Wood, guys like that)  it will be a STELLAR event and one I’ll look forward to every year. Might even go….

    Guy and Ken.

Sounds like a new animated sitcom don’t it?

I know these two a little. I will pull for them. Glad to see BASS do something like this. Now if only it was not in south Alabama in the summer time. Seesh………
