Today's Top 4
Reminds me of:
2. You're going to see a lot of guys go to extreme measures, like driving their boat up into rocks….
– Mike Iaconelli talkin' 'bout the upcoming Delaware River Elite. Does sound extreme, but not this extreme:
Called the SOB by Enigma Tackle, sinks, supposedly negates strolling/long-lining. Only problem…it's not an XD! Hahaha!
4. Chapman comments on KVD vs Ike.
Commenting on the below vid from the Chick, which I thought was pretty polite and harmless:
> On tour we find ourselves fishing in close proximity to other anglers often, and for that most of us have some guidelines we follow. For the most part it boils down to two things: (1) find your own water and (2) if you haven’t fished an area on the first day or two of the event and someone else has, it’s their area.
> When the answer is not black and white, I use the “do unto others as I would like done unto me” me test.

News
1. LA: Benefit derby this weekend.
> A bass fishing tournament is being held this Saturday to benefit the Taylor Fisher Memorial Scholarship Fund. Fisher passed away earlier this year.
> The tournament is being held at Lazarre Park in West Monroe. It costs $60 to register. For more information call Louie Fisher at (318) 348-1364.
2. 2015 Elite schedule rumors.
In addition to a western swing and a return to the Sabine, there's all kinds of talk about fishing one lake – possibly in Texas – 3 times in the same season. Who knows. 99.9% of bassin' rumors are this:
3. New licensing program for braid.
Seems Honeywell wants to differentiate from copycats.
5. GA: Thurmond Lake doing fine.
7. NH wants no lead in tackle.
Next:
8. ALX Rods high school-college program.
New skeeter-carried disease, "packs a wallop like having your bones crushed."

Tip of the Day
Not on the internet!!
> Rods are tough to judge in pictures but you really need to test them in a store to see if one fits your needs. Every angler’s preference is different – for example the rod I like for spinnerbaits may not be the same that Greg Hackney or Shaw Grigsby likes.
> The best way to check out a rod is take your favorite reel to the store, run the line through the guides and pull on the line to check the taper, power, and speed of a rod.
> You can drag the tip over carpet and feel the sensitivity, but the key is to insure the rod action matches your personal preference.
Quote of the Day
I pick out one area and by the time I get done fishing it, he's gone through the whole lake.
– FLWer Ramie Colson Jr. talkin' 'bout two-time FLW AOY Andrew "eat my wake" Morgan. Colson also said:
> "Maybe I try to dissect an area too much and put too much thought into it. He just goes fishing and he still covers everything. I'll see him come in and in 15 minutes he's checked everything he needs to check and he's gone down the lake. It's hard to keep up with him."
